Rebeca Bright, PsyD
Florida Licensed Psychologist #PY8853
Peace River Psychology Center | Port Charlotte
Rebeca Bright is a licensed clinical psychologist who enjoys working with people of all ages, offering counseling to children, adolescents, adults as well as the elderly as they cope with life's transitions. She uses a developmental approach to help individuals from across the life span identify their strengths and meet the challenges that are faced in each stage in life.
While obtaining her doctorate at Argosy University in Tampa, Florida, Rebeca completed a health psychology internship that gave her a wide variety of experiences. From conducting child assessments to counseling the elderly in nursing homes, Rebeca was able to see how the body, mind and spirit work together to guide and support an individual's journey in life.
Working with families at a substance abuse treatment center allowed Rebeca to help families that needed support with a loved one to change destructive behavior patterns with substances. Family members were comforted by Rebeca's firm but gentle honesty that gave direction at a time of confusion and crisis.
Rebeca's perspective was also informed by her time spent practicing psychology in a correctional institution helping troubled individuals cope with crisis situaitons in a difficult environment. Her experience taught her that through compassion and understanding the human spirit can find hope, faith, and eventually joy again even through the worst tragedy.
